Would you like to ensure that your automated emails in CleverReach are only delivered once per recipient?
In this article, we show you how you can effectively avoid duplicate deliveries in your THEA automations.
Possible scenarios:
A multistep purchase incentive automation should ideally be interrupted as soon as a customer completes the purchase;
You have automations for different sources, forms and for different recipient lists. When a recipient signs up, they receive a coupon code and the aim is to prevent them from registering via different channels and receiving multiple coupon codes;
Solution:
Label receivers with TAGs
-
In the menu on the left, click on Automation THEA and create a new automation via the New automation chain button.
-
Select the Advanced workflow and click on Blank template.
- Drag the Change data element onto the workspace of your automation.
- Click on the Edit button of the element. Assign a name and enter a TAG (confirm with Enter). (confirm with Enter). You can also add multiple TAGs.
- Add this TAG to the recipient via Change data after every email that the recipient should not receive a second time. The name of the TAG is freely selectable. In this example, it is called "Tag1".
Filter recipients
-
Before each mail that the recipient should not receive, add a filter element add a filter element:
-
Drag the Filter element behind the Change data element and click on the Edit pen to customize the function:
- Finally, click on Save. The automation chain continues with the false string as shown here:
If the recipient already has the TAG, the automation continues with "True" and ends with it-
Note: Please note that at least the filter must be placed before every email that the recipient should no longer receive. The exact appearance of your automation can of course be slightly different for each individual look individually.
Important: Even inactive recipients can start an automation and receive a TAG if the trigger is a calendar is a calendar start. If you do not want this to happen filter out the inactive recipients. |
