Newsletter Editor: What is a Snippet? How Do I Create and Use A Snippet in My Email Newsletter?

Make your newsletter creation easier and ensure consistency in your email campaigns. With the practical element function (snippets) in our newsletter editor, you can save individual elements such as text modules, images, buttons, social media icons or entire content blocks and reuse them as often as you like in future newsletters. This saves you valuable time and ensures that recurring content always looks consistent.

What is an element (snippet) in the newsletter dispatch?

By snippets we mean in the newsletter editor individual blocks of content. These can consist of different element types and allow you to create frequently used content or design create frequently used content or design elements once and then flexibly insert them into different newsletter templates and campaigns.
For example, you may need to create your company footer, certain product presentations or standard call-to-action buttons each time.

Save element as snippet

  1. Log in to your CleverReach account log in
  2. Click on E-mails in the menu on the left and open an existing mailing or create a new one.

  3. In the newsletter editor (step 3 of the email creating process) there are elements on the right that you can insert and design as you wish in your mailing.
  4. When you have finished editing and designing your element you can save the snippet. To do this, move the mouse over the element. An orange frame will appear:

  5. With the orange frame, you have various options for editing the element. To save the element as a snippet, click on the three dots > Save element.

  6. In the following pop-up, enter a name for the element and then click OK.

Where can I find the saved elements?

In the newsletter editor

In the newsletter editor, you have two tabs on the right - Elements and Design.
If you click on the elements scroll all the way down, the Snippets area appears. Collapse the area using click on the arrow to see your saved elements. 

In the element overview

Via the menu on the left > E-mails > Elements you can find your saved elements (snippets). Here you can also go to ••• > Edit to view the source code and make changes if necessary.
Use the Add element button to insert external source code to create elements.

How do I insert my snippet into the newsletter?

To insert your snippet into your newsletter, click on the respective snippet, hold down the mouse and drag the snippet to the desired position in your place in your newsletter:

Note: You can delete snippets, that you no longer need. To do this, click on the small element on the right on the small trash can.
