So that your emails are guaranteed to land in your recipients' inboxes, we at CleverReach rely on dispatch servers with the highest standards.
To further optimize the deliverability of your newsletter, we recommend the following measures:
- Use an SPF record
- Use a DKIM record
- Use your own subdomain
- Save an SSL certificate for the subdomain
- Optimize the subjects and content
- Save DMARC as a DNS record in your domain
-
Set SPF entry
(→ Detailed descriptions can be found in the article Setting an SPF entry for your mailing)
The SPF entry allows us to send on your behalf and is an important basis for deliverability. The SPF entry is set for your sender domain. So if you send your emails from the sender address beispiel@beispieldomain.de you set the SPF record on the domain beispieldomain.de. -
Set DKIM entry
(→ detailed descriptions can be found in the article Setting up DKIM)
The DKIM entry ensures that your mailings are tamper-proof. More and more receiving servers appreciate this and deliver emails with this entry directly. Like the SPF entry, the DKIM entry is set to your sender domain. -
Use your own subdomain
(→ detailed descriptions can be found in the article Using your own subdomain)We can use our own subdomain to display the tracking links in an email. This not only looks better, but also increases deliverability. To round this off, your own subdomain should be provided with an SSL certificate;
-
Save an SSL certificate for the subdomain
(→ detailed descriptions can be found in the article What is SSL and how do I create an SSL certificate?)You have the option to activate SSL in your CleverReach account or to store a certificate for the desired subdomain. To obtain an SSL certificate for your desired subdomain, you must contact a certification authority.
-
Optimize the subjects and content
Be careful when defining the subject:
Subject lines with words and characters such as "free, gratis, %, €, Euro, offer, new, current, hot, top, inclusive, attractive, benefit, attention, test, credit, discounts, price, reduced prices, exclusive, free, quick" as well as formulations with question marks and exclamation marks may well be classified as spam by some spam filters.
Also not recommended are standard names such as "Newsletter February" or the use of capitalized words only. Make the subject line as interesting as possible, for example the use of personalization. When including hyperlinks in your mailing, it is important to ensure that these are not classified as phishing (information on this can be found in the article How can I prevent phishing warnings?)
Design your mailing so that there is a good balance between text and images (if images are used). For example, if you send a mailing that only contains one large image, for example, it may well be it may well be classified as spam.

Save DMARC as a DNS record in your domain
DMARC is stored as a DNS record in the settings of your domain. To do this you must create a new TXT entry with the provider of your domain (e.g. IONOS, GoDaddy, Cloudflare) create a new TXT entry with the DMARC policy. Typically, the hostname is
_dmarc.IHREDOMAIN.de
, and the value defines how unauthenticated emails are to be handled should be handled (e.g.v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:reports@ihredomain.de
).
