By setting up a subdomain, your recipients will see your domain in the tracking or opt-in confirmation links. This gives you the following advantages:

How to set up a domain:
- Create a subdomain (e.g. mailings.yourdomain.com) with the provider of your domain and store the CNAME entry there.
- Set the CNAME for the domain provider to ssl.cleverreach.com
- Wait up to 48 hours for the entry to take effect.
- Enter the following in your CleverReach account under your Profile icon > My account > Settings > Domains your newly created subdomain.
Always specify the subdomain in the style of "subdomain.domain.de". Set neither HTTP:// nor HTTPS:// or similar in advance.
Please note, that this subdomain does NOT begin with numbers or special character stake up to 48 hours.
If you receive the message "This domain is not available" or "This domain does not point to the server", there is a technical problem with the domain. there is a technical problem with the domain (e.g. CNAME entry not correct or not yet active). In this case, please contact your internet provider.

You can store any URL under the account login redirect, which should be referred to when your subdomain is simply entered in the browser, for example. is entered. If no entry is made here, you will be redirected directly to the CleverReach login of your account. This redirection also takes effect if you have switched off the online view within the mailings, for example.
What is a CNAME entry?
CNAME is to be understood as a kind of alias for the DNS entries of another domain. For example, the domain mailings.yourdomain.com can be linked to the DNS records of 99999.cleverreach.com without the visitor noticing this. If you have set up the subdomain (e.g. mailing.yourdomain.com) with the provider, this information must still be stored in the CleverReach account.
How to set up a domain for your agency account (Premium only)
To use your own domains for the agency solution, you must create two domains so that no CleverReach information is visible in the URLs:
- Create a subdomain (e.g. mailings.yourdomain. de) and set up a CNAME entry
- You can find the necessary CNAME entry directly in your account under My account > Settings > Domains
- Now create another wildcard domain for your future customers: *.mailings.yourdomain.com and store the same CNAME entry as for your main domain
After 48 hours at the latest, you should go to your account under Agency Premium > Premium Settings you should be able to select your domain as the main URL. The use of the wildcard domain is only possible if you have booked Agency Premium;
Define a default domain
Define the main domain and save the setting. This way This domain is automatically stored when a new mailing/form is created, for example.
Important notes:
- You can set up a subdomain with your internet provider. Please inform the desired subdomain or the Cname. When naming the subdomain of the subdomain is completely up to you. 1-2 days after setup, the subdomain can be be added to the CleverReach account.

- The use of A-Records is not supported, as otherwise the domains will no longer work if our IP addresses change.
- Depending on the provider, updating the domain entries can take up to 48 hours may take up to 48 hours. We therefore recommend using the domain at the earliest 48 hours after of the entry / domain.
- The subdomain must not begin with numbers or special characters.
- For some providers, it is necessary to add a dot at the end of the CNAME entry. a dot must be specified.
