Send follow-up newsletters to non-openers

Not every recipient opens your newsletter the first time it is sent - and that is completely normal. To ensure that your message still gets through, CleverReach offers the option of sending a targeted follow-up to non-openers. This function allows you to reach contacts who overlooked your first email, making it easy to increase the reach and success of your campaigns.
In this article, we will show you how to set up follow-ups to non-openers and what you should pay attention to.

Create follow-up segment

  1. Click on Reports & analyses in the menu on the left and select the mailing for which you would like to send a follow-up.

  2. In the Engagement widget, click on the section showing open rates:

  3. An overview with additional information about the delivery of your mailing will open. Click the tab with the down arrow in the upper-left corner, then click Not opened. Next, click the orange Create Segment button.

  4. Enter a name for the segment, then click Save.

Note: Please note that if you want to use the newsletter have written to several recipient lists, this function is not available here. In your recipient lists, you can create a segment with the non-openers in each case and resend your newsletter to the created segments.

If you use the privacy compliance is activated in your account, it is not measured who has opened or clicked. Accordingly all recipients are considered non-openers and are then contacted again, even if they have opened the email;

Edit previous mailing and send to non-openers

  1. Under Reports & Analyses click on the three dots --- next to the respective report and on Save email as draft. Give the mailing a name (e.g. copy for non-openers).

  2. You will be forwarded directly to the editor where you can edit the mailing edit or send directly.
    In step 1 (Campaign Settings), select the Not opened segment that you created previously.

To use the function at this point, you need a paid account. Here you can find out more about our rates.
