You can create a responsive newsletter subscription and unsubscription form in your CleverReach account in just a few steps. By integrating the registration form on your website, blog or social media channels, for example, you can attract new recipients to your newsletter online.
Registration takes place exclusively via the secure double opt-in procedure in accordance with the GDPR. In addition, the confirmation emails for registration and deregistration are configured during creation, which you can easily customize.
Creating a new form
In the account under Forms, you can create a new form by clicking the Add form button at the top right.
A form can only ever be assigned to one recipient list.
Configuring the form
Once you have created the form, you can edit the respective area using the tabs. The following options are available to you.
Design | Design and general settings of the form (colours of background, font, header, button, etc.) |
---|---|
Contents | Selection of the content to be customised (registration and deregistration form and emails) |
Settings | Basic settings (form name, cancellations, information, forwarding, etc.) |
Source code / distribution | URL and source code for integration on your website |
Design
You can use the Design tab to determine the basic formatting of the forms. You will find the design options on the left-hand side of the editor. Here you can, for example, set the background colour etc. for the forms.
Please note that changes to the design affect all form elements, including the landing pages for registrations and cancellations.
New forms are automatically displayed in responsive design. If you have been a customer for some time, please check whether Responsive design is selected for your form under Select design.
Content
You can use the Content menu item to select the area that you want to customise - e.g. which form or email you want to customise.
On the left sidebar you will find corresponding modules that can be inserted into your form or e-mail.
For example, if you want to edit the registration form, you can insert a text field, textarea, checkbox and much more. You can use the text field to enter data such as surname, first name, etc. It is important that an appropriate data field is selected in the drop-down menu. This is the only way the tool knows in which data field the information should be saved in the recipient. You can find information about our data fields here.
Interests can be easily recorded using checkboxes, for example. A data field must also be assigned here.
Settings
You can set up your own forwarding pages in the Settings tab. The recipient will then land on the confirmation and error pages you have created. You can also define the unsubscribe process, specify that text-only emails are sent and allow multiple registrations.
Source code / distribution
Once you have completely configured the form, you can place it on your website using source code. You will find the generated source code under Source code / Distribution. Copy this and paste it into the desired location on your website.
Under Source code / Distribution you will also find a URL for the form, which you can share and send.
Copy existing form
You have the option of copying your existing form and linking it to a new recipient list, for example. If you are in your account under Forms, you will find an arrow on the right-hand side of your form that you can expand.
There is a Copy button which allows you to create a copy of the form.
Important notes
Assignment to recipient list | A recipient list can be selected for a form. The recipient list cannot be changed afterwards. |
---|---|
Fields | Each query field must be linked to a data field. |
Source code/distribution | Please make sure to copy the entire content of the box under [source code/distribution]. |
Support on the website | We provide the source code for the forms, but cannot provide support for the integration on your website. Many factors play a role here and we cannot log into third-party systems. |
Problems with the display | If there are problems with the display, deactivate the CSS and/or Java Script functions under [Source code/distribution]. In some cases, the styles of the website can overwrite the styles of the form. |
Responsive Forms | Our forms are automatically responsive. |
