Restoration of recipient data via backup

To ensure that your data is always backed up, CleverReach automatically creates a backup of the data every time you import or delete groups. You can view and restore the master data at any time if required. How it works:

Find and download backups

  1. Log in to your CleverReach account and click on the profile icon > My account in the top right-hand corner.

  2. Under the Extras tab, click on Backups.

  3. Here you will find an overview of the saved data. The backups are sorted by group and date. You can download an export file via the three dots on the left.

Restore data

You can carry out a simple import process to restore the data:

  1. Click on Recipients in the menu on the left and on the New recipient list button.

  2. Upload your previously exported backup via Select file and click Upload.

  3. Expand the login information a little further down and assign the data fields (as in the screenshot):

  4. You should also use the Refresh and Add function so that the system can restore the recipient data correctly. Finally, click Next.

  5. The data has been imported and can be found again under the Recipients menu item in your other recipient lists.
→ You can find more information about importing recipient data in the article Importing your own recipient lists.

Activate/deactivate automatic backups

You can activate/deactivate automatic backups via the profile icon under My account > Settings > Data protection using the slider on the right.

These backups are stored for 30 days and then automatically deleted.
Note: Backups are not when using external interfaces (such as xt:Commerce, Magento, Contao, API etc.).

Important notes:

  1. The recipient's activities (openings, clicks, etc.) are not backed up. Only the master data (e.g. email, first and last name, etc.) is backed up
  2. The backup function can also be set to be group-dependent. You can the function for individual groups under Settings > General within of the groups.
  3. Please note that the backup function can slow down the normal import of data.
  4. If an import/deletion process is carried out via interfaces (e.g. API), the no backup is performed.
  5. When using external interfaces (such as xt:Commerce, Magento, Contao, API etc.), no backups are created.
